The Unified Tariff Grid for employees of budget-funded institutions classifies several positions in higher education institutions (HEIs) as pedagogical or auxiliary staff. These include consultants; psychologists in centres for the professional development of teaching staff; methodologists in universities, academies or institutes; methodologists in film programme development; senior laboratory assistants and laboratory assistants; inspectors of academic or academic-methodological departments; interpreters-secretaries supporting visually impaired teaching staff; and secretaries of academic or academic-methodological departments.
HEIs may also employ, as needed and in line with their staffing structure, other categories of workers who do not belong to academic, research or research-teaching staff but carry out specialised auxiliary functions. In agricultural HEIs, for example, such staff may include agronomists, tractor operators, agrochemists and other agrotechnical personnel who support practical training.
Ukrainian labour legislation defines the employment conditions for these categories of auxiliary staff.
